Terms of Service
MeetingWatch is operated by MeetingWatch LLC (“we,” “us,” or “MeetingWatch”). By accessing or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
What MeetingWatch is
MeetingWatch provides automated transcription and AI-generated analysis of public government meetings, published as readable reports for civic-accountability purposes. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official record of any municipality, board, or government body. The site is provided free to read.
Accuracy & “as is”
Reports are generated by automated systems and may contain errors — including mistranscriptions, mislabeled speakers, and mistakes in analysis. They are a guide to the underlying public records, not a substitute for them. The official video, agenda, and minutes are always the authority; where our report and the source records disagree, the records govern. Every report links back to its sources so you can verify it yourself.
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Do not rely on MeetingWatch as your sole source for any legal, financial, electoral, or other consequential decision — consult the official records and, where appropriate, a qualified professional.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:
- Disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems.
- Use the content to harass, defame, or misrepresent any person, or to present our reports as official government records.
- Misuse account, subscription, or contribution features, or interfere with other users’ use of the site.
Accounts, emails & contributions
If you create an account or subscribe to emails, you’re responsible for the information you provide and for activity under your account. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your account at any time. Voluntary financial contributions support the site’s operation; unless expressly stated otherwise, contributions are not tax-deductible and are generally non-refundable. How we handle the information tied to these features is described in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
Source materials — meeting videos, agendas, and minutes — originate from public government meetings and records made available under state open-meetings and public-records laws, and remain the property of their respective authors. MeetingWatch provides transformative analysis of those records. The site’s original content, design, and software are owned by MeetingWatch LLC. You may read, share, and link to reports for personal and civic purposes; you may not republish the site’s original content wholesale or as if it were your own. If you believe any content has been published in error or infringes your rights, contact us and we’ll address it promptly.
Third-party links & services
The site links to external sources (such as municipal websites and video platforms) and relies on third-party services. We aren’t responsible for the content, availability, or practices of those external sites and services.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MeetingWatch LLC and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on the site’s content. Your use of the site is at your own risk, and the official public records remain the authoritative source.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the site or these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts.
