Same meeting produced a 3-2 vote to pause green bag enforcement until Town Meeting. Donohoe and Whitley opposed, preferring continued enforcement after extensive public input. https://meetingwatch.org/nh/hopkinton/select-board/2024-06-10/
At the June 10 Select Board meeting, members discussed forming a new committee to oversee Transfer Station operations and enforcement. Staff were directed to prepare a proposal. The topic was not on the public agenda, so residents received no prior notice. The board also voted 3-2 to halt enforcement of the pay-by-bag program until Town Meeting decides its future. Dunlap, Traum, and Lipoma supported the pause; Donohoe and Whitley opposed it. A public hearing was held on new tipping fees that will require approval from both Hopkinton and Webster boards. Official minutes are now available. The off-agenda committee discussion and the enforcement split are the clearest points of contention from the meeting. https://meetingwatch.org/nh/hopkinton/select-board/2024-06-10/ #MeetingWatch #HopkintonNH
