When high-impact land use discussions happen off-agenda, the public loses its ability to participate effectively. We need to ensure the agenda reflects the actual work being done. #AndoverNH #CivicAccountability https://meetingwatch.org/nh/andover/conservation-commission/2026-07-08/

Longer-form draft.
During the July 8 Andover Conservation Commission meeting, several significant discussions took place that were not listed on the public agenda. Specifically, the Commission discussed the potential for increased town involvement or ownership of the Fenvale property, including ideas for trails and a kayak launch. Because this was not an agenda item, residents were not given the opportunity to prepare questions or attend the meeting specifically to weigh in on this potential shift in land stewardship.

At the same time, several items that *were* on the public agenda—including the Andover Wetland Ordinance, the NRI/Conservation Plan, and sand replenishment at Chaffee Beach—were not addressed at all.

When a commission moves to off-agenda topics while skipping priority items, it limits the public's ability to engage with the most pressing environmental and land-use issues facing our community. We encourage residents to attend future meetings and demand that the agenda accurately reflects the topics to be decided. https://meetingwatch.org/nh/andover/conservation-commission/2026-07-08/ #MeetingWatch #AndoverNH
