Brunswick Town Council chose to stay in the Casella curbside contract until 2032, locking in collection services for residents.
- Staff recommended staying in the contract through 2032, citing service reliability risks. A later motion to cancel and issue an RFP failed 6-1. Councilor Williams was the sole vote in favor, pointing to new market competitors.
- The contract carries CPI plus fuel escalators at roughly $118 per stop. No competitive bid process had occurred since at least 2003. Sustainability Committee will now develop a longer-term solid waste plan.
