Because the City Manager oversees the daily operations, services, and management of our city, this evaluation is a high-stakes process that directly impacts every resident. By conducting this review in an executive session, the specific details of the evaluation and the Council’s findings remain hidden from public view.

In the same meeting, the Council also moved into executive session to consult on the 'rights and duties' of the Council itself. These private discussions can set precedents for how the Council operates and, potentially, how much information is disclosed to the public in the future.
