Approval of Minutes
Commission extended Grape Island environmental orders, approved 535 Randolph Street roadway work, and stressed water-supply caution amid Zone A infiltration concerns.
- The project involves repaving and widening a road within 100 feet of Great Pond. A conflict arose: The applicant's engineers argue their stormwater plan is fine, but the Town Engineer says increasing discharge into 'Zone A' of the water supply is prohibited.
- The Commission didn't rush to a decision. They emphasized that we cannot abandon the protection of our water supply. The hearing is continued to August 25th to allow the applicant to resolve the dispute with the DPW.
- In other news, staff reported on an illegal grease dumping incident at Mill River. The Town Attorney is currently pursuing cleanup costs and a $5,000 fine against the responsible company. More updates to follow.
