Accurate agendas are not just formalities—they are how the public participates in local government. When the scope of work or the topics themselves change without notice, accountability suffers. #Weymouth #LocalGovernment https://meetingwatch.org/ma/weymouth/conservation-commission/2026-06-30/

Longer-form draft.
Transparency Alert: At the June 30th Weymouth Conservation Commission meeting, several topics were discussed that were not included on the public agenda.

Specifically, the Commission provided updates on enforcement actions at 0 Washington Street and scheduled herbicide applications for Whitman's Pond. Because these items were not on the posted agenda, residents were not given the opportunity to review the details or provide public comment before these matters were addressed.

Additionally, there were notable discrepancies between the posted agenda and the actual discussions. For example, the agenda for 145 Wessagussett Rd described a 'foundation enclosure,' but the public hearing actually focused on a 'garage enclosure.' At 206 Rinaldo Road, the address was incorrectly listed on the agenda as '206 Ronaldo Road.'

When the scope of a project or the topics of a meeting change without prior notice, it limits the ability of residents to engage with decisions that affect our local environment and community. We are calling for more precise agendas to ensure meaningful public participation. https://meetingwatch.org/ma/weymouth/conservation-commission/2026-06-30/ #MeetingWatch #WeymouthMA
