Despite tabling the full reorganization, members voted 7-0 to name current co-chairs Mike Joachim and Mike Ferrari as interim representatives to the new multi-committee FY28 budget working group focused on override planning.
The interim step moves forward without input from absent members who had expressed interest. Final selections are now set for the June 29 meeting after those members confirm availability. https://meetingwatch.org/ma/sudbury/finance-committee/2026-06-11/
On June 11, Sudbury’s Finance Committee met with only five of nine members present. The committee tabled its scheduled reorganization of co-chair and liaison roles because a full roster was needed for those votes. Even so, members approved interim appointments of Mike Joachim and Mike Ferrari to represent the Finance Committee on the new FY28 budget working group that will examine fiscal outlook and override contingencies. The vote passed 7-0. Absent members who had signaled interest will have a chance to confirm participation at the June 29 meeting. Separately, the committee received updates that a $60-70k reserve-fund transfer for vocational education will be required in early July and that the snow-and-ice deficit will be raised through the FY27 tax rate. The reserve transfer is now scheduled for an action vote. https://meetingwatch.org/ma/sudbury/finance-committee/2026-06-11/ #MeetingWatch #SudburyMA
